Perry Ellis Tailors Mobile POS to Include Inventory and Customer Data

RIS News

Seeking to provide customers with a more connected store shopping experience, Perry Ellis will deploy mobile POS technology that also provides associates with product information, cross-channel inventory and customer profile data. The rollout's initial phase is expected in the second half of 2012, with the goal of a complete chainwide deployment by holiday 2012.

The Starmount Connect and Engage solution lets associates perform transactions for both in-person and online orders with a single credit card swipe, anywhere in the store. The solution also frees up selling space and eliminates many ongoing POS operational costs.

"Innovation is something Perry Ellis has always been known for, so the adoption of mobile selling in our stores is a natural evolution for our brand," said Perry Ellis CIO Luis Paez in a statement. "Our clients expect something different when they walk in and our goal is to use mobile to deliver an exceptional, unique customer experience that will keep them coming back."
